Garland A. Ferrell, 85, beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away on May 6, 2014 at his Parkersburg home.
He was born in South Charleston, WV on Feb. 2, 1929 to Elzie W. and Martha McCallister Ferrell.
Garland was a member of the Eighteenth Street United Baptist Church in Huntington. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from C&P Telephone Company and also worked for Hertz.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine Adkins Ferrell; daughter, Brenda Stephens and son Ronald Allen Ferrell; brothers, Walter Ferrell (Ruth) of Charleston, Charles Ferrell (Judy) of Winfield, Wayne Saunders (Claudette) of St. Albans, Lacy Saunders (Jean) 0f Pamplico SC., John Ferrell (Sandra) of Tad and Glen Ferrell (Patsy) of Cross Lanes; sisters, Ruth Cogan of St. Albans, Goldia Raines (Phil) of Charleston and Agatha Bono (Henry) of St. Albans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Ferrell Pinson and brothers, Willard P. Ferrell and Norman E. Ferrell, and his stepmother, Mary Saunders Ferrell.

A service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Howard Watson officiating.
