Icie L. Reed, 95, of Harrisville, died Aug. 3, 2010 at Pine View Continuous Care, Harrisville.
She was born Oct. 17, 1914 near Oxford, Doddridge County, the youngest child of Charles and Virginia Wilson Bee. She was the last immediate member of her family.
Icie was a homemaker and worked for 36 years in Harrisville garment factories. She was a foster grandparent for 3 years at Smithville Elementary School. She attended King Knob UM Church where she had served as substitute Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Pastor Parish Committee.
She is survived by two sons, Eldon Reed, and Louis Reed (Joann) all of Harrisville; seven grandchildren, Lewis Reed (Pam) of Macfarlan, Mike Reed (Anita) of GA, Angie Wornstaff (Jeff) of VA, Donald Reed Jr. (Laurie) of PA, Jennifer Nuttern (David) of GA, Melissa Reed, and Jeff Fury (Amanda), all of Parkersburg; ex-daughter-in-law Mary K. Reed of St. Marys; step-grandson Tim Basham (Christie) and 3 children of St. Albans, WV; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Landon Allen Banks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dewey (Dude) Reed in 1982; one son, Donald Ray Reed, Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Glenda (Eldon) Reed and Doris (Louis) Reed; seven brothers, Lenny, Ephrim, Sherman, Gus, Ola, Otis and Cecil Bee; two sisters, Mary Summers and Vallie Courtney; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Raiguel Funeral Home with Rev. John Frum officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, from 4-8 PM.
