Daybreak 10/6/2011: Chef Yancy & Patty Christopher's Crockpot Apple Butter



Five pounds tart cooking apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
One cup sugar
One-half cup apple juice
2 Teas. Ground Cinnamon
½ teas. Ground Cloves
½ tea. Ground Allspice
½ Cup Red Hot’s candy


Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 to10 hrs. Or until apples are tender. Mash apples with blender until med. Sauce. Return to crockpot and cook for 2 more hrs. Pour immediately into sterilized jars and seal. Makes about three pints.
