Daybreak 6/18/09: Chef Yancy Roush's French Toast Recipe


2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 loaf french bread
Butter as needed
Favorite fruit (for filling)


In medium size bowl mix together, eggs and milk. In medium skillet begin melting 1 teaspoon of butter in pan so that bread does not stick. While butter is melting slice 1 1/2 inches thick to allow for you to cut pocket into bread and insert your favorite fruit filling. After filling bread with filling dredge through egg mixture, covering both sides of bread. Place in heated skillet and let cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Place on plate served with your favorite sides, and top with your favorite maple syrup.
