2009 News and Sentinel Half Marathon

Alene Reta has won the Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon for the third year in a row.

The Ethiopian broke away from the field at about the 3 mile mark, and was never challenged after that. His winning time came to 1:04:15. That was good for a 1:14 margin if victory over Kennett Kiptoo, and Ketema Niguesse came in thrd.

Hellen Jemutai from Kenya won the women's half marathon.. She edged out Divina Jepkogei at the finish line. Alemtsehay Misganaw came in third.

The top American male finisher was Steven Crane from Arlington Virginia in fith place.

The top American female finisher was Wautgaja Frasguag of New Hope MInnesota.

The top Ohio finisher was Craig Leon of Athens in eighth place
The top West Virginia finisher was Jason Pyles from South Charleston.
in fifteenth place.

John Hull of Marietta was the top Mid Ohio male fiinisher in 36th place. Vincent's Jocelyne Majoy was the top Mid Ohio Valley female finisher in 92nd place.

Ben Hulin of South Bend Indiana won the wheelchair race in 1:14:53

Tyler Cantley won the 2 mile race going away with a 1 minute margin of victory. Cantley has won the 2 miler three years in a row now.
