The Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates completed a game that was suspended Tuesday night before playing their regular scheduled contest. The Cubs took both outings, winning the completed game 8-to-6 and the second by the score of 7-to-1.
The first game was shut down in the middle of the seventh inning Tuesday night. Jonah Bayliss took the loss on the completed game and drops to 2-and-2. Rocky Cherry won the game and is now 1-and-1.
In the regularly scheduled game, Ian Snell was the loser and falls to 2-and-2 while Jason Marquis upped his mark to 4-and-1.
For the series, Chicago's Alfonso Soriano broke out of a hitting slump by going 8-for-15 with homers in each of the last two games.
