Humbled Hamilton

It's been a tough road since Josh Hamilton was the first overall pick in the 1999 baseball draft.

The former standout at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, has struggled with alcohol and drug addiction.

But this season the 25-year-old Cincinnati Reds outfielder is turning things around in a big way, surprising just about everyone.

After only 21 starts, Hamilton has eight homers, 17 RBIs and a three-oh-six (.306) batting average. He was the National League's rookie of the month for April.

Teammate and pitcher Bronson Arroyo has dubbed Hamilton the Red's MVP.
