STEWART, OHIO-"High Flying" is often over-used, but no other term could describe Mid-season Sprint car champion Jimmy Stinson of Vandalia, Ohio at Skyline Speedway Friday Night June 4. Stinson claimed the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association 30-lap main event and $1,500 top prize. Pole-sitter Chris Garnes, Evans, WV claimed the companion 30-lap AMRA Late Model Mid-season Championship in a torrid green-to-checkered run. Kenny Johnson made it three wins in a row with a win in the Malta AMRA Modifieds, Tommy Adkins claimed the Four Cylinders and unbeatable Ryan Wilson took the Pure Stocks. Will Holland and Scott Perine took the Mini-Wedge mains.

The early portions of the sprint car main looked like a "Team Jarrell" domination with California-bound Aaron Higgins taking the early lead. Higgins relinquished the lead to teammate Jimmy Nier on the eighth circuit. After a skirmish that evicted Wes McGlumphy, the "team Jarrell" lined up 1-2-3 with Nier, Higgins, and Jimmy Stinson. From that point on Jimmy Stinson was on a rail, blasting along the high side in super-sized, high speed action. Stinson passed both Nier and Higgins and went on to lap the field except for second place Jimmy Nier. Nier later was found to not cross the scales and was disqualified.

Rounding out the top ten were Keith Baxter, Kory Crabtree, Andre Layfield, Dave Dickson, Charlie Fisher, Mark Imler, Josh Davis, Bryce Dickson, Eddie Miller, and Chris Myers. Dave Dickson was hard-charger for the second week in a row from 13th to 5th.

In the Late Model Main Chris Garnes got the jump on Chris Carpenter. That duo pulled away from the pack somewhat as Audie Swartz and Fast Freddie Carpenter fought for third. KC Burdette and Larry Bond fought for position with Bond getting whistled for a miscue that spun both cars. It was a father-son Carpenter battle for four laps after the restart with Garnes once again pulling away out front.

Audie Swartz rode the high-side in non-typical Swartz fashion. Swartz split the Carpenters and claimed second, where he anchored down the mark for four ciruits before a scrape with the turn four wall. The defending champ lost momentum and Freddie Carpenter took second with Chris following in suit on the white flag lap.

Rounding out the top ten were Chris Garnes, Freddie Carpenter, Chris Carpenter, Audie Swartz, Andy Bond, and KC Burdette, Ralph Withem, Dan Morrison, Tony Roush, and Justin Powell. Andy Bond was co-hard charger in a 14th to 5th place run, while Ralph Withem went from 16th to 7th.
The AMRA Malta-challenge was none-the-less impressive. Kenny Johnson in the Two-Brothers Shaw Chassis made it three consecutive wins after jumping into the early lead and holding off hard charger Robert Garnes at the finish. Garnes stromed past former champ Doug Henry and Jeremy Blake, then said his sights on Johnson.

Johnson was fast, but Garnes may have been a little faster at the finish. Never-the-less, Johnson's early momentum carried the veteran to the hard-fought win. Johnson now has wins at at-least three different AMRA tracks this season. Rounding out the top ten were Kenny Johnson, Robert Booger Garnes, Vince Conrad, Doug Henry, Jeremy Blake, Robbie Evans, Rick Venham, Jr., Derrick Smith, and Dusty Boley.

The Skyline Pure Stocks keep getting better every week. But unfortunately for the competition so does Flying Ryan Wilson. The Wilson Energy #00 whisk away to victory lane for the sixth time this season, leaving Gary Gould and Jeremy Blake to fight it out for second. Jarrod Willis had a good run after strong competition from Rick VanDyne and Curt Reck. Rounding out the top ten were Ryan Wilson, Gary Gould, Jeremy Blake, Jarrod Willis, Rick VanDyne, Curt Reck, Levi Woods, George Klintworth, Shane Roush, and Justin Carpenter.

The fabulous Four Cylinders were dominated by A2 Tommy Adkins of Portland, Ohio. Adkins has been both dominator and terminator, winning all but one race on the Skyline high banks. Having their best runs of the year, George Klintworth and Tyler Emmelhainz filed in for second and third. Rounding out the top ten with good runs were Adkins, George Klintworth, Tyler Emmelhainz, Chris Lauer, Jeff Rankin, Barry Kitts, Scott Neal, Donnie Bartlett, Terry Gilkey, and Ryan Donaldson.
