One of the area's winningest active football coaches has announced he is stepping down
Danny Tennant announced Tuesday night he is retiring as Parkersburg Catholic's football coach after a 27 year run. He will remain as athletic director.
Tennant told WTAP Wednesday he recently decided it was time to step aside. As AD, he expects to have input in hiring of a new head coach.
Tennant's Crusaders were 7-4 this past season; losing in the first round of the Class A playoffs to Meadow Bridge.
His overall record came to 197-101. Under Tennant, the Crusaders were a perennial staple of the Class A playoff field, including a streak of 14 straight appearances.
