Mike Eddy is entering his first year as the head coach at Parkersburg South and he's bringing his own style of coaching with him. During the team's June practices Eddy is testing players on the team with "Adversity Training".
Eddy describes Adversity Training as tests that seem extremely difficult when presented but help develop leadership within the team. He also said that these tests help build players with good work ethic and strong character, and those are the types of teams that are successful.
Eddy spent the last 4 years as the head coach at Gallia Academy and was previously an assistant coach at PHS. The Big Reds won 2 state championships while Eddy was on staff.
South opens the season on the road against Ripley on August 30th.
