Hammons Headed to Miami

For the second day in a row, a Marietta High School student athlete is heading to a Division One school on scholarship.

Jared Hammons is heading to Miami University in Oxford Ohio on a golf scholarship. Jared signed his Letter of Intent with the Mid American Conference school this afternoon at the Sutton Gymnasium in MariettaL

Jared will be bringing his "A" game to the Red Hawks. This past season he was an 11 time medalist for the tigers with a 72 point 2 stroke average.

He's earned All Confereence, All Sectional, and all District Player of the Year awards.

He credits his coaches and teammates at Marietta, and his participation in area junior golf circuits for honing his competitive skills.

Jared knew Miami was the place for him on his first visit, and he excited about his future with the Red Hawks.
