(AP) - Freshman Taryn McCutcheon scored 23 points, including six free throws in the final minute to preserve Parkersburg South's 54-51 win over Morgantown in the girls Class AAA semifinals Friday night.
Third-seeded Parkersburg South (19-7) returns to the championship game for the first time since winning the 2008 title. The Patriots will meet No. 5 Logan for the championship on Saturday night.
Parkersburg South overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to take a 40-39 lead early in the fourth quarter.
McCutcheon made two free throws with 45 seconds left and two more with 25 seconds remaining to put Parkersburg South ahead 50-46. She sank two more with 4 seconds left for the final margin.
Parkersburg South's Keya Bartlett finished with 14 points.
Leah Taylor led No. 2 Morgantown (20-6) with 14.
