The West Virginia High School Wrestling Tournament gets underway in Huntington on Thursday
And a Parkersburg contingent is looking to make history. The Parkersburg South Patriots will try to defend their Class AAA State Championship.
The patriots, under first year coach donna Dixon., are coming off another successful season that saw them wrestle the toughest competition from West Virginia and surrounding states
South began the post season with an impressive performance in the Region One Tournament last weekend. The patriots took home the team championship once again, crowned 5 regional champions, and qualifield 12 wrestlers for this week's state meet
South has won 18 state championshps over the last 38 years. Many of those titles have come as part of a streak, and this weekend they're going for an unprecedented 5th in a row.
