UPDATE 11/7/2013 12:00 PM
We have some great news for fans of Parkersburg and Parkersburg South High Schools…wherever you live!
WTAP has been given the OK to carry this Friday night’s “Crosstown Showdown,” live on our NBC station and on TheNewsCenter.tv.
Our live telecast and webcasts will begin with a pre-game show from Erickson All-Sports Facility, with Jim Wharton and Mike Hayden, at 7pm eastern time.
Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
You won’t just see the football action, you’ll see the complete half-time shows of both the Patriot Band and the Big Red Band.
We’ll have it all on WTAP, our NBC affiliate.
We’ll also have it live on our webchannel, TheNewsCenter.tv for folks anywhere in the world.
And we’ll offer it live on Syncbak to folks in Wood, Washington and Pleasants counties to watch on their Smartphones.
You can also see highlights of this and other games on Zide’s Football Frenzy, Friday night at 11:15pm on WTAP-NBC.
And you can see the pre-game show, all the football action, and the halftime shows Friday night at 11:30pm and Sunday at 9am, on FOX Parkersburg.
FOX Parkersburg is cable channel 14 and digital 22.1 over the air.
A calendar note for all you Patriot and Big Red fans.
The “Cross-town Showdown” is coming up in just a few days - on Friday, November 8th.
We’ll have a live pre-game show from the Erickson All-Sports Facility at 7:00 that evening.
But it’s up to YOU as to whether we get to show the game LIVE or not starting at 7:30.
They’ve got to sell a lot of tickets before they will give us the OK for the live telecast.
And if we get to do that live telecast, we’ll make a donation of $1,000 which the schools will share.
So, go out and support your teams and help us bring this big game to PHS and South fans everywhere on WTAP-TV and on TheNewsCenter.tv
