Tim Phillips has had his share of success in the pool, on local, national, and international level.
Thursday night the former Parkersburg High School star was competing for a national title at the U.S. Open Swimming Championships in California
Tim was the number qualifier in the preliminaries, but he would finish with a silver medal performance in the finals of the 100 meter butterfly
Tim finished second to NCAA butterfly champion Tom Shields. Shields winning time came to 51.65 seconds That was just a 13 hundreds of a second faster than Phillips' time
Tim has 2 silver medal performances so far in the U.S. Open, and and he'll be swimming the butterfly again Friday as part of a relay competition.
