(AP) - Gino Bianconi set Class A championship game records with 355 rushing yards and five touchdowns to lead Wheeling Central to a 35-21 win over Williamstown on Saturday night at Wheeling Island Stadium.
Top-seeded Wheeling Central (13-1) won its second straight title and ninth overall.
No. 2 Williamstown (13-1) had made it to the championship game for the first time since winning its only title in 2008.
Bianconi needed just one half to break the record of 251 yards set by Duval's Michael McClure in 1982. His rushing total also was a record for all classes.
Bianconi's five TDs broke the Class A mark of four set by Wheeling Central's Brandon Tucker in 2005. His 39 carries also were a record.
Williamstown's Trey King ran for 133 yards and two scores.
