Shannon was hired as a reporter in May 2011 and promoted to weekend anchor in August 2011.
She knew that she wanted to broadcast news since the 1980s TV Show "KidsSongs," a show in which kids produce, shoot, edit and report their own shows, much of which Shannon does now (minus the musical numbers and magical furry animals featured on the show).
Shannon comes from Akron, Ohio, where she was fortunate enough to experience the LeBron James hype while attending high school with him.
She received a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science from The University of Akron.
Prior to joining to WTAP, she was a reporter and anchor for her school's Emmy Nominated news show, Z-TV. She also interned at Fox 8 where she got hands-on training with Cleveland's top feature reporter, Kenny Crumpton, on his segment "Kickin' It With Kenny."
When she's not bringing the news to your household, Shannon enjoys singing, dancing, listening to music, attempting to run, hanging out with friends and reading...just to name a few!
