Abbie Schrader joined the WTAP news team in October 2013 and can be found doing weather on the weekends and reporting during the week.
Originally from LaGrange, Ohio , Abbie attended Cleveland State University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Digital Media. She also attended the Ohio Center for Broadcasting.
During those times she interned at many of the television and radio stations in the Cleveland area. While interning at WOIO in Cleveland she was hired as a production assistant. In 2013 she served as a field producer for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Cleveland which is something very near and dear to her. She was also on the scene where in May of 2013 three women in Cleveland were found alive after being held captive for almost ten years.
Abbie has always wanted to work in news since she was a little girl when instead of watching cartoons like most kids, she chose to watch the local news.
She's a huge fan of all Cleveland sports teams and is still holding out hope for that long awaited championship. Abbie is also a huge animal lover and pop culture junkie.
Abbie is excited to be close to home while being able to report for the Mid Ohio Valley.
