No "Wheels"? No Problem!

A large number of people don't have their own transportation.
And from cycling to taking the bus, they have to find alternative ways to get around.

Parkersburg City Councilwoman Kim Coram was appointed by the Wood County Commission to form an alternative transportation group.
Monday morning, she presented her latest plan.

While she's seeking grants, she points out that non-motorized transportation often pays for itself.

"Bikes don't put as much wear and tear on the road; we don't need as much money for infrastructure," Coram says. "It's a win-win situation. The funding comes, but it also pays back tenfold."

The idea behind the group is to find ways of helping people to establish trails or other forms of transportation for those who use them to get around.
