Update: Noble County Murder Gets 25 to Life

A Noble County judge Wednesday sentenced Larry Shoeppner to 25 years to life, for the murder of a Caldwell woman last fall.

Shoeppner received an additional three years for a firearm specification, making the total sentence 28 to life.

Larry Shoeppner, accused in the murder of a Caldwell woman last September, has pleaded guilty in Noble County Common Pleas Court.

The Clerk of Courts office says Shoeppner pleaded guilty to Aggravated Murder with a firearm specification. His sentencing is scheduled for March 20.

Larry Shoeppner has been indicted by a grand jury for the death of his former girlfriend.

Shoeppner is accused of fatally shooting Tracy Kay at her Caldwell apartment September 22nd.

The grand jury indicted him on two counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary.

Police say Kay found Shoeppner at her residence and that he later shot her to death.

He is to be arraigned Tuesday in Noble County Common Pleas Court.

Larry Shoeppner waived his preliminary hearing Monday in Noble County Court.

Shoeppner is accused of shooting his former girlfriend, Tracy Kay, to death at her Caldwell apartment September 22nd.

Police say Kay found Shoeppner in her apartment late that night.

As officers arrived, gunshots were fired inside the apartment.

A special grand jury could hear the case some time this month.

Shoeppner remains in jail on a million dollar bond.

The Noble County Sheriffs Department has released the name of the suspect in a weekend shooting that left one woman dead.

Larry Anthony Shoeppner, 34 of Bell Valley was arrested and charged with murder.

Shoeppner appeared in Noble County Court, and a judge set his bond at $1 million.

He is scheduled to be back in court on October 1 for a preliminary hearing.


A woman is shot to death and a suspect is in custody.

The Noble County Sheriff's Department is not identifying the suspect, saying only that he's a 34-year old man.

Dead is 46-year old Tracy L. Kay.

The sheriff's office says deputies and Caldwell police responded to an apartment after getting a call about an unwanted man in the residence.

They arrived to find a man in the apartment and Kay, who was later pronounced dead.

It's believed she was shot to death, but the body has been taken to Stark County for an autopsy.

Formal charges have not yet been filed.
