Alan Longstreet joined the WTAP news team in May 2010 as Daybreak's co-anchor/meteorologist and Noon News meteorologist. He hails from Coopersville, MI, where he spent the majority of his youth and adult life before moving shop to the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Alan received his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Central Michigan University. While he was not studying, he filled his time honing his forecasting skills for News Central 34, a student-run, hour-long, news broadcast.
The summer of 2009 led Alan to WSBT in South Bend, Indiana, for an internship in the weather department. In January 2010, while finishing up his final semester at CMU, a position at WSBT opened up and Alan was hired as a weekend freelance meteorologist. From there, he moved to the Mid-Ohio Valley for a full-time position at WTAP.
Alan left WTAP in early 2012, to become a meteorologist at WJBK-TV, the FOX affiliate in Detroit, MI.
