Jillian has always had a passion for news and loves being in the thick of things getting a story. She started her career deep in Hudson County politics at The Jersey Journal. She wrote feature stories/home, garden, health, fitness, food and more for a variety of Gannett publications in New Jersey, including the Daily Record and its magazines; Good Life, Panache and Real Morris, as well as the Courier News.
About the same time, the NJ bureau chief of the Associated Press personally invited her to take their writing test and she is qualified to write for any AP bureau in the United States.
Most recently, Jillian was a general assignment reporter for HudsonCountyTV.com in the New York area, where she covered the explosive visit of President Rafael Correa of Ecuador. She was also there for the "Day of Outrage," where Citizens for Change came out in force to protest what they called intimidation tactics and racial profiling by their current administration.
In Southern California, she contributed to the Beach & Bay Press, Peninsula Beacon, La Jolla Light and Ranch & Coast, a luxury lifestyle magazine based in Encinitas. She was a freelance reporter for two of the area's award-winning television stations: KOCT, The Oceanside Channel and Del Mar TV, where she hosted and produced "Hitting it Off" - Single in San Diego, as well as other pieces.
Jillian joined the WTAP news team in June 2012 as a multimedia reporter. She hails from North Jersey, just a short walk across the George Washington Bridge from New York City!
In her free time, Jillian enjoys yoga, ballet, live music, spending time with friends on both coasts and catching up with family back home.
Jillian left WTAP in May 2014.
