CISM "Individual Intervention and Peer Support Training

Porterfield Baptist Church- Little Hocking, OH
The Porterfield Baptist Church, along with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, will be hosting a crisis response seminar, “Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support” training.

This seminar is designed for anyone who desires to increase their knowledge of individual (one-on-one) crisis intervention techniques that can be used for selfcare as well as helping friends or family members during times of emotional and spiritual suffering. This course is certified by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.

Participants will receive a study book as well as a certificate of completion (13 hours). This course is considered stress management “basic training” by many law enforcement, fire department, and emergency services agencies. Jeff Naber, the CISM instructor, is a retired federal law enforcement officer who is manager of Chaplain Development and Ministry Relation/Rapid Response Team for The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. The registration fee is $100 per participant. Registration fee includes a provided lunch on Saturday.

Conversations about Dementia is an education workshop offered by the Alzheimer’s Association. This program offers helpful tips to assist families with difficult conversations related to dementia, including going to the doctor, deciding when to stop driving and making legal and financial plans.
