Summer is in full effect, and parts of the country are experiencing record high temperatures.
What should you do to stay cool during the heat of the season?

The best way to keep the body cool is to keep it hydrated. Although sports drinks help replace electrolytes. If you've had a day of rigorous exercise.. doctors say water will usually does the trick.
And wear light clothing in lighter colors; they reflect the heat away from your body.
Want to exercise outside even when it's hot? Sports medicine experts say work out in the morning or early evening hours when the sun isn't as intense.
And if you become overheated and nauseous, find a place in the shade to sit down. You may be suffering from heat stroke. That's when the body's not able to regulate it's own temperature which can rise in minutes to a life-threatening 106 degrees - or more.
Symptoms of heat stroke include hot and dry skin, throbbing headaches, dizziness and nausea.
The Centers for Disease Control says sit the person down and use a cool compress to cool the body off. Do not give someone with heat stroke fluids to drink, and try to get the body temperature down, by applying cool water to the skin, even if it means spraying them with a hose.
