With the right shoes, the perfect ball, and quick feet Jashua was ready for his first bowling game ever.
"Jash you just got a strike," said his social worker. He walked away from it with an ever widening smile. "The third ball you ever throw and you get a strike!" she said.
When I asked him how it felt to throw a strike he said "It felt really good."
This bright eyed 11-year-old was a pro at Emerson Lanes in Parkersburg and with a 4.0 grade point average he's in the top of his class.
"I like doing math. Math is my favorite subject," Jashua said.
Adding up the score comes easily to this fifth grader. At such a young age, he already sees the value in it.
"You'll pretty much have to do math throughout your whole life," he said.
Jashua's a little on the shy side around adults but his easygoing attitude will win you over.
He likes sports in general and is getting ready to sign up to play baseball this spring but athletics are not all he is interested in. "I play the clarinet," he said.
"I can play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "Twinkle Twinkle" and I can play Hot Cross Buns and Jingle Bells."
Jashua also has a big place in his heart for animals. He feeds and waters the goats, cats, and dogs at his foster family's home.
"Because its good that you know that you are doing the right thing for them."
Now Jashua's looking for a forever family to help take care of him. Parents he'd like to spend time with and go bowling with.
Jashua sure is a winning pick for any team.
