Brooke Thibodaux, originally from St. Louis, MO, is the WTAP News Team 5 and 10 o'clock anchor. In May 2013, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Woods University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at WWU, she received many awards including the Outstanding Senior Award and the 2013 Communications Distinguished Scholar Award.
During her college education, she had four opportunities to learn about the news industry in multiple varied markets. Brooke held several internships including: Clear Channel Radio in St. Louis, MO, KMOV in Columbia, MO, and KTVT in Dallas, TX. In the spring of 2013, she anchored at WNKY in Bowling Green, KY to temporarily fill in for an anchor.
Ever since she was young, Brooke has been striving to reach her goal of becoming a news anchor/reporter. Living in South Africa for seven years is one of the life experiences she contributes to her passion. As a natural observer, Brooke has always been intrigued and fascinated at news on all levels, whether it's local, national, or world, as they all impact each other.
Brooke is excited to live in the Mid-Ohio Valley and develop connections over the coming years. In her free time she enjoys time with friends, running, reading, and spending time outdoors. She looks forward to getting involved in the community and charity work.
She left WTAP in May 2015. As of 2015, she works at Eyewitness News in Charleston, W.Va. as a morning reporter. She's now pursuing a degree in counseling.
