James Sparvero

James Sparvero anchors WTAP weekend news at 6 and 11 Saturday night and at 11 Sunday night. He can also be found reporting weekdays.

A Pittsburgh native and Penn State graduate, James joined The NewsCenter in September 2013 after working in television for two years in Florida. Across south Florida, he worked as a production assistant with Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida and as a sideline reporter/camera operator with Xfinity High School Sports. His favorite experiences included working with the Miami Heat, Miami Marlins, and Florida Panthers.

James then moved to Panama City where he became the morning producer at WJHG-TV, News Channel 7. It was at the "World's Most Beautiful Beaches" he was also given opportunities to report and anchor news and sports.

Now back closer to home, James is thrilled to have the chance to grow as an anchor and reporter in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Sparvero left WTAP in November 2014. He is now a weekend anchor/weekday reporter at WAFB in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
