18th year of Victorian Christmas Home Tour and Tea begins this week

PARKERSBURG W.Va, (WTAP)- The Annual Victorian Christmas Home Tour and Tea event will kick off later this week.

The plan for Thursday’s festivities includes an antique show, art exhibition, and a horse drawn carriage ride while Friday is designated for lantern lighting through the district.

Additionally, the Julia-Ann Square Historic District will showcase 5 homes decorated for the season.

Different from previous years, if you are interested in attending the candle lit tour of homes on Saturday evening, you must have a reservation because the event is only accepting 100 guests on that tour.

Organizers of the event feel as though it brings a festive feeling to one of Parkersburg’s most historic areas.

“People need to see what our forefathers here in Parkersburg built. It’s just so important that we maintain and keep our history because it is a place of rich history,” says Judith Smith, a member of the event’s committee.
