MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Wednesday students, alumni and the general public could participate in a job fair at Washington State Community College.
From 2-3 students could interact with more than 50 employers at the college. And from 3-4 the public was invited in to participate as well.
Organizers say they planned the job fair on this date to specifically target more of their students.
"We're very excited that our students are going to be a part of this and we appreciate what the employers are doing here because they're helping to educate our students about what's available in the marketplace.” Says Richard Poole, an organizer of the job fair.
Dozens of students took advantage of the event, including Elayna Jacobs. “I actually talked to the people at Alone Company and they actually already said they would call me and interview me and stuff.”
Rachel Rhodes will graduate this May and also found the job fair helpful. She says, “I thought this was a great program and opportunity for Washington State kids and I think everyone should come here and actually do it because it helped both [Elayna and I]."
Employers varied from health care to finance to individual contractors.
