Assistant Principal's resignation accepted by Wood County BOE

The resignation of Williamstown High School Assistant Principal Jeff Bayles was accepted Tuesday night by the Wood County Board of Education.

That item was among several on a list of personnel changes up for consideration by the board. The board usually takes action on the entire list, rather than just one personnel change.

The News Center reported back in August that an employee at the high school was, at the time, temporarily removed from his duties due to an investigation.

The nature of that investigation has not been revealed.

Bayles' resignation was effective November 30.

Several other items were approved by the board, including a new walk-in freezer for the child nutrition warehouse.

The board also went into executive session to review the superintendent's goals.

That session lasted 45 minutes, after which the board said it wants to focus on math curriculum and new textbooks.
