Original Story 7/10/2018
Some residents of the city of Belpre face a shutdown of water service Wednesday.
Affected customers are along Ohio Route 7, north of the entrance ramp from Main Street, including Joe Skinner Road.
Several residences and some major industrial customers will lose water service.
The city is doing permanent repairs to water lines damaged from a landslip in June.
It isn't certain when the work will be finished.
"We're going to move equipment into place in the morning, but we're going to shut down the water at 9 A.M., not before," says Public Works Director Mike Betz. "As far as the end of the project, we're projecting less than a day. But we're erring on the side of caution, and (we're) putting notice out to stock up on more water if they needed it."
Betz says one business had a previously planned shutdown, and should not be affected by the loss of water service.
A boil advisory will also be in effect from the beginning of the water line work and continue for 48 hours after the work is completed.
