PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Vascular patients will now have an operating room environment unlike any other in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
In the past, patients would need to go to Columbus or Cleveland for this advanced vascular surgery. Now, Camden Clark Medical Center has the surgical room that brings imaging of a cardiac Cath lab into a sterile operating room environment.
It provides better images that allow more precise and accurate work, with less exposure to radiation.
Vascular surgeon, Dan McGraw, says “We’re able to take images that patients have had, maybe an outside facility’s CT scan, and we can import that onto this monitor and actually work off of those images which is a big advance over what we were able to do before.”
The Endovascular suite hybrid operating room was renovated over the last eight months and opened during the holidays. It has already been used for multiple surgeries.
