August trial for couple charged in Parkersburg murder delayed

The August 28 murder trial for a man and woman accused of killing Penni Jo Curtiss in December, 2017.has been continued while attorneys await results from mental exams.

No new trial date has been set.


Jessica Roberts and Kenneth McCoy appeared for an arraignment Friday morning before Judge Robert Waters.

Both pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the death of Penni Jo Curtiss in December. Their trial date was set for August 28.


A Wood County grand jury returns indictments against two dozen people, including a man and a woman accused of killing a Parkersburg woman inside her home.

25-year old Jessica Roberts and 33-year old Kenneth McCoy are each charged with two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit
murder, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, grand larceny, and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

Roberts also faces a charge of fraudulent use of an access device.

They're accused in the death of 53-year old Penni Jo Curtiss in December,

Both remain in the North Central Regional Jail, after being denied bond.
