PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - It's a casual night filled with food, entertainment, and drinks. That's how locals describe the Downtown Throwdown BBQ and Brewfest.
Downtown PKB kicked off its fall event season Saturday night with the 3rd annual event at Bicentennial Park in downtown Parkersburg.
6 different vendors offered their best barbecue dishes and attendees got the chance to try beers from all over the mountain state.
Wendy Shriver, the executive director of Downtown PKB, believes the wide variety of beers makes this event stand out.
"I think there's a group of people who like craft beers some of us are referred to that like craft beers as beer snobs but our microbreweries are represented here and our local breweries like the Parkersburg Brewing Company we're serving their beers as well as other craft beers and domestic beers from across West Virginia," Shriver said.
Attendees also voted on their favorite BBQ item, which was granted to Shortys Pizzeria.
The proceeds raised benefit both the participating vendors and Downtown PKB.
Shriver says she enjoys highlighting the food the Mid-Ohio Valley has to offer.
