Dupont announces job cuts in Delaware

By  |

(WTAP): Earlier this month, we told you about Dupont's plan to merge with Dow Chemical.

Now, as it prepares for the future, it looks like many Dupont employees in Delaware should fear losing their jobs.

Dupont says it will cut 17,000 jobs in its home state of Delaware, and thousands more globally.

That's roughly 10% of the company's workforce.

This morning, Dupont sent a letter to employees saying the job cuts are set for the beginning of the new year.

Dupont and Dow Chemical are merging to create a giant chemical producer, which will eventually split into three independent companies.
