Early voting begins in Ohio

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Now that the deadline to register to vote in Ohio has passed, early voting begins. Wednesday was the first day Ohio voters could vote early. In Washington County, you can vote at the Board of Elections Office on Davis Avenue, until November 5th, the day before Election Day.

The elections office is open from 8 - 5 Monday - Friday and will be open Saturday October 27th and Saturday November 3rd from 8 - 4. The week before the election they will be open from 8 - 7 Monday - Friday.

Deputy Director Peggy Byers says, “We had about 3,500 ballots that were dropped into the mail this morning. We have more to get ready we just weren't all the way ready. And we had about 100 people that walked into the office today. We actually had a line when we opened up this morning. So we are very very busy so if you want to do your early vote, the time is now, come on out to see us.”

Early voting in West Virginia begins October 24th. West Virginia voters still have until the 16th to register.
