PARKERSBURG, WV - Drivers in Parkersburg and Vienna should prepare for lane closures starting next week on 2 major roads.
The West Virginia Division of Highways says current single-lane closure on WV 68/Garfield Avenue in Parkersburg will extend to a 2-lane closure for milling and paving work, starting on Monday, September 18.
The work and lane closures will happen on WV 68, starting near the Park Shopping Center and ending 1/10th of a mile north of where WV 68 intersects WV 14 in downtown Parkersburg.
Officials say construction crews will be working at all hours of the day and night, and reduced speed limits will be in effect in the work zones.
This work is scheduled to be completed on October 13.
And, on the WV 618/Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge, at least one lane on will be closed until October 20 for bridge maintenance.
The West Virginia Division of Highways says one lane on the Eastbound side of the WV 618 Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge will be closed until September 29, 2017, to facilitate bridge deck maintenance.
Then, one lane on the Westbound side of the bridge will be closed until October 20.
WV DOH officials say no traffic delays are expected during this project, but motorists should drive carefully around the work zones and obey all traffic signs in the area.
