Marietta, Ohio (WTAP) - Prom season is approaching and many high school girls are feeling the pressures of getting all things they need to be "picture ready."
One organization has created a donation drive to make things a bit easier.
Tassy Yates and Charlotte Cox came together 6 years ago and started collecting donations for prom attire. The two ladies named it, "gowns for your day."
Since then, they have been collecting dresses from sizes 0-24, shoes, and even jewelry.
The women say the "cause" has grown so much they rallied up extra help from a youth group from Parkersburg Sunrise Baptist church.
Yates, one of the organizers said, "It’s great to see the girls so happy and it's one less stressful thing that they have to deal with. You know prom can be so expensive, so it's neat to see their confidence up and also their smiles."
Organizers say they except donations all year round.
You can make donations at the Washington Career Center, Teri Ann's in downtown Marietta, and the Gift Gallery in Vienna.
