Harpist travels from Colombia to perform in MId-Ohio Valley

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A musician that traveled a long way from home will have a free concert at the Parkersburg Art Center at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Hildo Aril is from Bogota, Colombia. This is his second time in the U.S. playing the harp. During his tour in the Mid-Ohio Valley earlier in the day, he shared his music with children at the art center.

Then, he made a stop at the Mango Latin Bistro on Market Street. His visit was made possible by the organization Harping for Harmony.

"The magic of the harp. That's what we all say. The magic of the harp. It's like out of a fairy-tale," said Aril.

His next stops includes cities like Morgantown and Pittsburgh.
