MINERAL WELLS, W.Va. (WTAP) - A Wood County Sheriff's Deputy cruiser and a utility truck hit each other on I-77 South near Mineral Wells.
Police were en route to a domestic call and were passing a construction zone. One cruiser was behind a utility truck for a gas company.
Since the right lane was closed, only the left lane was open. Most cars yield right to emergency vehicles, but the gas truck driver couldn't.
The cruiser attempted to go around the truck through the construction lane, but that's when police say the truck decided to veer to the right.
The two cars knocked into each other and the cruiser was pushed off the road. Both cars were towed. No injuries were reported.
