A search is underway in Pleasants County after authorities say a driver took off on foot following an accident.

The Pleasants County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened on Route 2 near the St. Marys Correctional Center around 7 o'clock Monday morning.

There was one driver in each vehicle. Authorities says a bystander stopped to check each driver.

The bystander checked the first vehicle and found a female driver. Before the bystander had a chance to check the second vehicle a man driver took off on foot.

The Pleasants County Sheriff's Office, the St. Marys Police Department and the West Virginia State Police have all been searching the area following the accident.

Authorities says they have been given conflicting reports about who was driving the second vehicle at the time of the accident.

At this time they say they are searching for Jeremy McFall for questioning in regards to the accident.

The sheriff's office says it is also looking for a second possible person, but has no information to release at this time.

The female drive involved refused treatment at the scene of the accident.

Anyone with information about the crash or the whereabouts of Jeremy McFall is asked to contact the Pleasants County Sheriff's Office at (304) 684-2285.
