Marietta businesses sponsor free carriage rides

MARIETTA OH, (WTAP)- Marietta Main Street organized an event where local businesses in Downtown Marietta could sponsor free carriage rides in the city to get shoppers and locals in the holiday spirit.

The city sees this as a way not only for local businesses to give back in a creative way, but also as a way to bring shoppers and business to Downtown Marietta.

Saturday, the carriage was in front of The Cook’s Shop, the sponsor of the afternoon’s carriage rides. Owners of the shop feel that an event like this helps bring support directly to the heart of the city.

“It brings life to downtown. It beings people downtown. It supports everything we do,” simply puts Ken Kupsche, co-owner of The Cook’s Shop on Front Street.

The final opportunity for free carriage rides is next Saturday at Terri Ann’s on Front Street from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
