PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP)- Your neighborhood is a place where you want to feel safe and others to feel welcomed and in order to maintain that…everyone has to work together.

That is why a group of concerned citizens from neighborhoods all over Parkersburg get together with Parkersburg Police and discuss concerns and new efforts in how to keep neighborhoods safe.

Every other month, the group gets together with police at the 911 center to discuss the types of crime occurring in specific neighborhoods and precautions to take to stay safe.

On Thursday, the Neighborhood Watch had a meeting at the 911 center.

J.B. Campbell, president of the Neighborhood Watch says, “What is going to happen is we will have our regular meeting, and then we will take and break down to let the 911 center brief us on the different types of crime going on, anybody got any issues in their communities, they are going to be able to look at them. They are going to pull them up on the screen and say ‘hey this is what’s been reported, this is what’s recorded, and did you know about this that’s been happening on your street?’”

The next meeting will be in October.
