PARKERSBURG, WV - All lanes of the Parkersburg Memorial Toll Bridge connecting WV 68 with Ohio Route 7 will be closed part of this week for road work.
The City of Parkersburg says the Parkersburg Memorial Toll Bridge will be closed from 7 A.M. on Thursday, September 21st, through Saturday, September 23rd, as crews install the final deck overlay and re-pave the bridge.
Work is also closing one lane on the Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge that connects downtown Parkersburg to Belpre.
The West Virginia Division of Highways says one lane on the Eastbound side of the Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge will be closed from now until September 29, to facilitate bridge deck maintenance.
After that work is complete, one lane on the Westbound side of the bridge will be closed until October 20, for similar maintenance on that side of the bridge.
Finally, 2 lanes will also be closed on part of WV 68/Garfield Avenue in Parkersburg, from Monday, September 18th through Friday, October 13th, as milling and repaving work begins.
The work and lane closures will happen on WV 68, starting near the Park Shopping Center and ending 1/10th of a mile north of where WV 68 intersects WV 14 in downtown Parkersburg.
Officials say construction crews will be working at all hours of the day and night on WV 68, and reduced speed limits will be in effect in the work zones.
