Parkersburg addiction recovery home opens annual Giving Campaign

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) During the holiday season of giving, a local organization is asking for support in helping give back to those fighting addiction.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Fellowship Home launched its annual Giving Campaign earlier this month. All money raised goes toward the group's services, which include five residential homes for those struggling with addiction.

The organization says if you can't give a monetary donation you can also donate time and skills like painting, carpentry or gardening.

"I've been here for 15 years and I've seen lots of miracles here. Miracles happen on George Street," executive director Patrice Pooler said. "So if people want to be part of miracles, you know the miracle of recovery, the miracle of a person starting off and being reunited with their family. This is an awesome opportunity for them."

Last year's campaign collected $5,000. Organizers say this year's goal is $7500 and it runs until January 31.
