MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - A local theater is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
The People's Bank Theatre is holding an open house this week in anticipation of its annual gala and auction Saturday. Christmas trees and wreaths donated and decorated by local businesses and residents will be auctioned off at the event.
All proceeds go toward the theatre, which is entering its fourth season next year. But the building itself will hit a big milestone next year.
"It's also our 100th anniversary, so this theater turns 100 years old, sadly for 30 years of that, this theatre sat dark and unused," marketing director Drew Tanner said. "We've been very excited, of course, to see just the response from the community for the programs we're offering here from concerts to theatre to children's programs. I think it's just really filling a nice niche in the Mid-Ohio Valley for the performing arts."
Tickets for the event are available now online and at the box office. The theater will also be making a special announcement about a can't-miss event next year.
