PARKERSBURG, W.Va.-(WTAP) A pro-life leader travelled through West Virginia Wednesday, calling on U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin to vote to confirm President Trump's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Randall Terry, operation of "Operation: Rescue", held demonstrations in five cities, including an appearance Wednesday afternoon in downtown Parkersburg.
Terry says Manchin needs to follow the call of the state's residents, who overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
"Sen. Manchin says he's pro-life, and he has to put the interests of innocent babies ahead of his party," Terry said. "West Virginia is very pro-life, and he represents the people of West Virginia, and he has an obligation to them and to the babies."
Manchin has not indicated how he will vote for the nominee.
On his Senate website, however, he has a page asking West Virginians for their comments on Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.
