WOOD COUNTY W.Va, (WTAP)- A campaign to gain support for Small business is being implemented across the state.
The “Shop Small in July” campaign pushes West Virginia small business support in the summer months. Many small businesses receive a large percentage of support around the holidays, and Erika Bailey of the West Virginia Small Development Center (SBDC) says that now is not too soon to start planning for something so vital for small business success.
“People that come on the store are really nice. We all develop a good relationship with the customers that come in. Remember people’s names. They remember us, we remember them. It’s always a good relationship.” Tyler VanMeter of Bond’s Tailgaters.
“It’s always a good practice to keep your business local because it’s the local business that’s supporting your community. I always say give local, buy local,” says T.R. Hathaway, owner of Superior Toyota.
The WV SBDC is asking West Virginians to show support to small businesses throughout the month of July. They also suggest sharing your small business experience on social media with the hashtag shop small WV.
