VIENNA, W. Va. (WTAP) - November is National Homeless Youth Awareness month and with this, some in the Mid-Ohio Valley spent their time outside overnight to raise money so some can have a place to call home.
Last night and into this morning the 5th Annual Parkersburg Sleepout was held at the ballparks at Jackson Memorial Park.
Around 10 teams comprised of people from local schools and businesses decorated box houses to the theme which was “Shine a light”.
Around 100 people participated in this year’s event and the Children’s Home Society of Parkersburg expects to raise around 25 thousand dollars from the event.
