Spencer to host W.Va. Mountain Bike Championships

SPENCER, W.Va. - The City of Spencer, West Virginia will host the 2017 Tour de Lake USA Cycling West Virginia Mountain Bike State Championships at Spencer Trails at Charles Fork River on March 25 and 26.

This event features races for all age groups and skill levels, and is the only qualifying race in the Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia region for USAC Nationals.
The race also qualifies racers to enter the 2017 Mountain Bike National Championship Race in Snowshoe, W.Va.

Here is the schedule of events for the 2017 Tour de Lake Race Weekend:

Saturday, March 25:
12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Short Track Registration
2:00 p.m. - Cat 2/3 Open Men, Women & Juniors
3:00 p.m. - Cat 1/2 Open Men, Women & Juniors
3:45 p.m. - Awards and Food

Sunday, March 26:
USA Cycling West Virginia State Championship & WV Mountain Biking Association Season Opener
9:00 a.m.-11:15 a.m. - Open Registration
11:00 a.m. - FREE Kids Race
11:45 a.m. - Staging and Pre-Race Instructions
12:00 p.m. - Pro/Expert/1-2/Open Categories
12:02 p.m. - Sport/Cat 2 Categories
12:04 p.m. - Beginner/Cat 3 Categories
2:00 p.m. - Food Available
3:00 p.m. - Awards

Payouts for Sunday Championship Races:
Women Open: $750 (7 Places)
Men Open: $750 (7 Places)
Junior Open ($250) (5 Places) - Juniors Race FREE
Experts compete for cash payout
Other classes compete for prize table
